What To Expect

Your Initial Visit

There will be paperwork.  We promise to keep it to a minimum.  Intake forms are available on our website so you can complete the paperwork at your convenience at home. New patient forms

Dr. Lang will sit down face-to-face with you for an in-depth discussion to explore what is going on with your health and to identify your personal health goals.

Then we’ll conduct a series of examinations to identify the underlying cause of your condition.  Each step of the way, Dr. Lang will explain what is about to be done before he proceeds and again as he is doing it.  Please ask questions at any time.

Your evaluation will include nerve and muscle evaluations and a computerized spinal function examination to create a comprehensive assessment of your condition and its cause.  Dr. Lang will be able to determine whether your case is one which chiropractic is likely to benefit from chiropractic care.

In most cases, Dr. Lang can begin care on your first visit.  If so, a gentle spinal adjustment will start the healing process and you’ll be provided with home care instructions to enhance the healing process.

Please allow 60 minutes for your initial visit

Second Visit

Dr. Lang will answer any questions you have about what happened at the initial visit.  He will then discuss how you felt after your examinations and your initial chiropractic adjustment.

He will review your health goals, examination findings and discuss treatment options in plain language and together, you’ll define your treatment plan.  Our aim is for you to achieve the greatest progress toward your individual health goals in the shortest possible time.

Please be sure to let Dr. Lang know if you feel any additional discomfort after an office visit.  When initiating care, it is not unusual to experience a small amount of discomfort following the first adjustment or two.  This level of discomfort should be no more than experienced after starting a new exercise program.

Any discomfort exceeding this intensity indicates that we may be trying to do too much on each visit, which will actually slow your progress.  We will fine tune your treatment plan to make it comfortable and to achieve the fastest results.

Healing is a process, and all processes take time.  Remember each visit builds on the prior visit, creating momentum for healing.  You can optimize your progrerss by following your treatment plan, including home care instructions.

Your second appointment typically lasts 30 minutes.

Additional visits typically last 15 minutes.
